happy hanukah, fellow jews!
i am the only contending jew of the 9 (soon to be reduced to 8) people i live with, so even though christmas falls nearly a week after my holiday ends, i won't be exchanging merriment and festivities and presents until the 25th. it's fine, i mean, i am fairly indifferent towards the holidays. i'm fine with pretty much everything and sometimes i wish i wasn't. that i could just collect all my rage and flip out and stop worrying about the consequences. it would feel so awesome.
do you know what comes of being nice and decent? nothing terrible, but certainly nothing great either. my best friend once told me that the difference between being content and being happy are making choices that could potentially cause you unhappiness. it's not that i didn't believe her then, but i really believe her now. i am so content it hurts -- one might even say marginally unhappy. not even of my own stupid volition! where is my sense of adventure!!! gripe gripe gripe.
